Mr Tulppo has sort of flipped!! (You knew that already!!) Wait a minute, that doesn't sound right. I am running my classroom during the 2014-2015 as a hybrid-flipped classroom. What does this mean? Maybe you've heard of the flipped approach or perhaps this concept is entirely new to you. With the introduction of the 1:1 initiative at NPHS, I decided that the time was right to try this approach in my social studies classes. On certain days, students will be assigned a brief video tutorial to view at home in preparation for the next day's lesson. It is very important that students watch the video at home, in their study hall, or prior to class. On other days, students will view clips in small groups during class and participate in discussions, debates, or other activities. Stay tuned for more updates regarding how the flipped approach is working. For more information, check out this link: The Flipped Classroom
